Nutrition is the cornerstone to any meaningful training or wellness program.

Diane King, MS, RD, CSSD, ATC, is a Registered, Licensed Dietician, Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics, and NATA Certified Athletic Trainer.  Diane’s expertise in nutrition, health and wellness has provided her with a variety of experiences. She has served as the nutrition consultant with the Atlanta Falcons since 1994. During this time she has overseen the sports nutrition component for players that include weight loss, weight gain, body composition analysis and performance programs.  She provides meal planning information, and sample menus including grocery store and local restaurant information. She currently consults in several facilities and works part-time as an Athletic Trainer for Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.

Diane recently received the specialist certification in sports dietetics. She sits on the committee that helped develop the certification which includes helping to write the exam that all candidates must qualify to take for this specialty recognition.  She has also worked this year with the Georgia High School Association to help develop the nutrition education material that goes along with the new Wrestling Minimum Weight Certification program that has been implemented.

Recently, Diane has been invited to be a part of the Gatorade Sports Nutrition Network for 2007.

Because of her experience in sports medicine with injuries and recovery, she can discuss various diet plans to address the special needs for these athletes as well.  Diane was one of the Athletic Trainers at the Aquatics Venue during the 1996 Olympic games and has worked with sports medicine programs and occupational medicine at Dekalb Medical Center and Rockdale hospital. She completed a certificate of training for Childhood and Adolescent Weight Management in September 2003. Diane received a Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics from Memphis State University and a Master’s degree from Louisiana State University in Human Nutrition and Exercise Physiology.
